College and a Bed

College and a Bed

So finally in Washington we got everything moved in after about a week and a half after our stuff got here. Busy unpacking boxes and trying to make a house look like a home. We went to “The Old Cannery” and got me a bed. (Which is amazing and super comfy! J ) My mom would LOVE that place. Its over 50 acres of just furniture and rustic shabby chic super cool decorations and furniture. I don't think she'd ever leave ;) either that or she'd come out broke :P (jk jk but really mom you'd love it)
Mom you would LOVE this place!!!
Spencer came with me to tour the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary school in Seattle. There were 2 others with us. It was pretty cool but I am not sure I am convinced it’s the best one for me. I have a free pass to sit in on a class there. I may or may not use it.

The Eternal Road Trip

The Eternal Road Trip

So I may not have been able to go to on the usual vacations with my family this summer but I did get to go on “The Eternal Road Trip” It’s basically a Road Trip where you stop at every Historical site and pretty view you see. After the movers had packed everything up and left we left too. We went to Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota.

We went to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

Yellow Stone "Stink Holes"
I don't remember what they were really called but they smelled SOOOO bad!!!!!
We stopped at a pretty view on the mountain we were driving on.

And we went to Glacier National Park in Montana. (Which was the best of all of them with all the cool waterfalls and green trees and rivers and mountain and snow.)

Nebraska

Nebraska
So after the reunion I headed to Nebraska with Amy and Brad and their family. Once we got there Amy called her hairstylist and set up an appointment for us to get our hair done. (The yellow just wasn’t working for me) So we went in and I got my hair trimmed and colored. It went from yellow to a really pretty Auburn color. (It’s definitely my favorite color that I’ve had it colored) Aubrey got hers cut and thinned and Amy got hers trimmed and straightened. We also got some curling product for Aubrey’s hair to help with the frizz and some color protecting products for mine.
Before (yuck!)

After! ( <3)
After we got home we had Spencer be our “Paparazzi” and do a Photo Shoot for us. It was fun and the pictures turned out pretty good J (Watch the evolution of our faces :P)

Perfectly normal pretty picture

A little different

And here we go!

Here is all of them put together in a fast motion progression video! :P

This one is my favorite :D

Aubrey didn't want to take any more :)
I also had gone in to the doctors to have my toenail looked at. It had been torn off completely and started to hurt as it grew back.  Well turns out I hadn’t had my second booster shot for Chicken Pox and I had to get that done too! Boy that was a nightmare! >:(  Tears were definitely shed. :’(

Here's a picture from when it was first torn off! (YUCK!)
I also tried a new hairstyle on Aubrey’s hair that I saw online. I turned out pretty good for the first try and for her having curly hair:)

So this year we had our VanCott family reunion in Junction Utah. We stayed in an old Courthouse that was reconstructed to be a lodge. They still had the Judge’s stand and vaults around the building they turned into bunk bed rooms. (Don’t worry they didn’t lock!)

My Uncle Shane organized a few tournaments and had cash prizes for winners. There was Bocce Ball, Chess, Horseshoes, Air Hockey, Trivia, a Spelling Bee and a few races for the kids. I won Horseshoes with my Uncle Aaron, and the Spelling Bee and Trivia with my team.

Shane also organized a Geocaching trip and the kids had fun on that.

My aunt Mary and Uncle Aaron set up a kiddie pool, water balloons and a Slip-N-Slide for whoever wanted to cool off. Everyone had fun splashing around and cooling off.

Uncle Aaron made a few splashes too!

Vacations on Summer Past

Vacations of Summer Past

My family and I go on road trips every summer. Usually we go to San Diego California and Lake Powell and sometimes to Utah.  Sadly I missed these vacations this year. L
Here is a picture of all the kids and our Rupier Smith and Kettring friends on the walls outside of the San Diego temple.
